Poached Pears in a Caramel Red Wine Sauce

Preparation time: 5 minutes Cooking time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 x 200g packets Angas Park Dried Pears

Method

  1. Place butter and sugar in a large saucepan and cook over medium heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add red wine, cinnamon and pears and cook over medium heat for 4-5 minutes or until syrup starts to thicken.
  3. Serve with cream or ice-cream.
